The Rise and Fail of Occupy Toronto …… ( Part twelve )

Meow everyone. In this section I will be looking at the Idle No More protest and what it really accomplished. The usual suspects , as always play key roles here too but this is not the end, no , far from it. This , as the past failed events  are training sessions for something much bigger. For that, you will to wait a little longer to find out.

Idle No More

What amazes me about these professional protestors is that they clearly do not have any sort of employment at least employment in the traditional sense. Frankly, after dealing with many of them, I would not hire them to wash my paper plates as they would screw that up as much as they  destroy any legitimate causes, and just as fast. But that does leave one very interesting question, where do they the money to go to all these protests in the first place. Someone has to be bankrolling them. Idle No More would prove to be a perfect example of this seemingly bottomless pit of travel expense accounts. Interesting as well, how the same people who were running the Occupy Toronto movement , the Decolonize movement, the student protest movement wee now also running the Idle No More movement. No, this is not a testament to their superior leadership skills, quite the opposite. It shows clearly that these professional protestors actually don’t have a cause at all. They are simply  mindless automatons being controlled by an outside force who need disposable bodies to their dirty work for them. This mentality is  a perfect text book example  for organizations like the International Socialists, since a true communist does not ask questions, they simply obey orders. Once in a while, they would get rewarded  for their loyalty. Trey Winney would once again play a key role, and get his reward.

As time moved forward, so too, new bandwagons approached. This time, it was  “ Idle No More. “ This was a protest movement that claimed to be about aboriginal issues, but it has been proven to be any but that.  It appeared, based on  published reports, that one chief of one band was going onto  a hunger strike to seemingly  raise awareness of the conditions her band lives in. Now let me be very clear here. There is no question that the native population, do very much, live in very poor quality conditions. BUT WHY? Well it seems that while the government gives these bands tens of millions of dollars to be used within their individual communities, the money seems to flow only to a very small number of persons. In the case of this one chief, as is the case with many others, the chief drives around in a nice seventy five thousand dollar Cadillac Escalade, pays her boy friend eight hundred dollars a DAY, while her band members have holes in their floors, mould in their homes, no heat or water and usually no food , or very little. No this chief as with many others, wanted to draw attention away from their own gross incompetence and mismanagement and use their own people to as exploitive tools to hide behind while placing  the blame of their incompetence on anyone and everyone but themselves. Should anything have happened top them, they assured themselves a title of martyr as yet another means of hiding behind  facts and accountability. The occupy Toronto leaders / facilitators would yet again, jump onto this new bandwagon and exploit if even further. This time, however, they raised the stakes.

Let me very clear here. I whole most certainly   support aboriginal rights and self governance. What I do not  support is incompetence, mismanagement, being  lied to, being used as pawns and being deceived. It is my firm belief that our aboriginal people have been exploited for many years by a plethora of groups, organizations and even governments. It angers me greatly that once again, these same people who have been exploited, are being exploited once again by people like Vasey, professional protestors , who have clearly hidden agendas, and use whom ever, and what ever means they are able to, to further their OWN goals at great expense to others. These people, like Vasey, don’t care who they hurt or destroy in the process, as long as they get what they want. In my opinion, the title of eco terrorist that has been bestowed on the like minded people such as Vasey is well deserved.

These professional protestors are HIGHLY DANGEROUS  to the peace, safety and security of this country. Their goal  is to cause divisiveness enough to pit one group of people against other groups while they stand on the sidelines and watch the happenings and do their dirty deeds amongst the confusion and debris they leave behind.  They clearly work for other, much larger entities who fund them ( Vasey et al ), who have goals that should scare every honest hard working citizen of this country. People like Vasey, Saunders, Flook  are not your run  of the mills protestors. They are professional agitators who move from one cause to another, as the wind blows. To put into terms that may be, sadly, easier to understand , Vasey et all are like drug dealers. Their funders would be  like the heads of the cartels , Vasey et all would be the  main local distribution  source who provide the mid and low level dealers, with the anarchists being the low level dealers. ( I am not suggesting that vasey et al are selling drugs, I am using that as a means  to show their level on a chain of command ONLY  and the roles they play)

These people have little to no interest in the aboriginal people. No, the aboriginal people are merely tools for these professional protestors to further their own goals. People like Vasey et al know nothing about the struggles our aboriginal people have had to endure , yet they continue to create further hardships for these every people. Railway blockades like the ones they organized and participated in did nothing to the rest of the country but it DID  cause  server hardships to the very aboriginal communities these rail lines serviced.

I do think that the people of Canada were indeed the recipients of all of the above by many of these native leaders, and we, the taxpayers are the ones who are left on the hook to pay the bills. Those bills based on mismanagement are not the only ones we pay, however. This new band wagon was basically the native protests that were planed for June 21 of 2012, but a few delays put them off until later on, about mid November.

Ontario would prove to be a hot bed of these protests as we have many bridges and land crossings into the USA.  These would prove to be highly desirable targets to protest, as would railway blockades. However, as with ever protest that these professional protestors participate in, they, very predictably, overlooked a few major details. In this case, the railway blockades they put up did nothing but hurt the very communities these native reserves sit in / on / are serviced by the railways. The railways bring in food, clothing, heating supplies, in fact, just about every necessity  for ones existence comes to these communities on rail. So, what do these brain dead protestors do? They blockade the rail lines that feed them. Well, never let it be said that these professional protestors were the intellectual cream of the crop. It was not uncommon for some persons  businesses in these communities to lay off workers, or close up entirely as a result of the “ help “ these protestors would provide. With help like that, one needs a very good pitch fork to call friend.

While railway blockades would be one tactic used, another tools used was the old standby, flash mobs. Flash mobs are events created through social media like face book  and twitter, where a message is sent out and the hopes are that hundreds if not thousands of persons show up. Toronto was home to several of these flash mobs in busy shopping malls and high traffic, high profile city locations. For the most part these flash mobs would be peaceful events that generated many hundreds of persons, both as participants and as spectators. Often times, the spectacle of the event was more entertaining than the event itself. One or two of these flash mobs were held the largest shopping center in the city, the Eaton Center, in the very heart of the city. One such flash mob generated about five hundred participants and another three or four hundred casual viewers. Dave Vasey and some of his cohorts would attend , but wait, only a few hours previous, they were in Sarnia Ontario for a railway blockade, as well,  a pre record release party for an anarchist hip hop group called “ Test their Logic “ . Sakura Saunders is married to one of the two members of this hip hop group. The other member, Chris Bowen is famous for his arrest during the G20 when he was perp walked in front of several onlookers at a riot on the Sunday of the G20. Both are anarchists who prefer an “ in your face “ approach to activism , as opposed to logic.

Remember I said the Dave Vasey and his cohorts where in Toronto for these flash mobs.  One very notable absentee was Trey Winney. I had mentioned earlier that Trey had basically consumed the proverbial kool aid and was fully immersed and indoctrinated into the cult mentality. It appears the Trey was left  behind deliberately  as his first test as a leader in this occupy styled venture, to see if he had what it took to lead people into a protest. So he remained behind in Sarnia at the railway blockade to lead those still there. I had a chance to speak at some length to one person who was there as well, who told me that trey Winney was involved in some digging activity at the tracks they were blockading. He was approached and questioned about his actions but dismissed the person with a rude comment. That blockade was evicted shortly thereafter, however, there was an incident that resulted in a significant fuel spill from one locomotive which passed by shortly after the blockade was over. Very little information was released about this incident, however, its location and timing does make me wonder if Winney was responsible for this taking pace. This blockade appeared to be a test of Winney’s leadership skills and abilities, but it seemed that this was also an indication of what direction these protestors want to be heading into. It appears as well, that it may lead to several actions at once and more new leaders are needed to run several actions. Trey Winney was left there on his own, with, very conveniently, the main leaders far enough away that when  things went wrong, they would be free and clear, as they were not there, while Winney would the guy to take the fall.Behold the ramblings of Trey Winney:

I was discussing this rail blockade with a very good and highly trusted friend of mine online as it was unfolding. She  had become a very good a highly trusted friend , very outgoing and opinionated, certainly unreserved, and spot on  However, unknown to myself and some others, she held a very deep personal secret that was directly about railways and trains. Her secret is her story to tell, however, I fully understand, greatly respect and absolutely admire her resolve as well as her moral character. Many might have given up, she didn’t. She understands better than most the effects and results of what these type of actions inevitably result in. of course, these professional protestors are not going to care  one iota about the results and potential effects of their actions, they are too busy destroying peoples lives. It seems to be a full time job for them.  Ask Trey Winney, Dave Vasey  and  Sakura Saunders. Others too would soon take a fall, and it was going to be enjoyable to see this  take place.

I very recently read an article in the National Post that describes very accurately just how co-opted both Occupy Toronto was , as well , this whole Idle No More nonsense really is. The article reads as follows:

“ … You’ve probably been wondering what fervent devotees of last year’s  Occupy movement have been doing with themselves, since authorities in several countries required them to take down their tents and depart from municipal parks and other public property.

They were a pretty fervent group, while they lasted, determined to overthrow the ruling elite, the existing power structure, and anyone they identified as having an unfair advantage on themselves. Then they just kind of disappeared: without tents in the park, they didn’t seem able to channel their anger into any sort of effective effort to bring about change. (Even in the parks they weren’t very effective, to be honest, but at least they had somewhere to go, and companionship of a sort).

Chaos doesn’t know who starts it.

Now some of them are back again, like old acquaintances, having seized on Idle No More as their cause of the day. The National Posts’ Sarah Boesveld reports that the Idle movement  “is offering inspiration beyond Canada’s borders: former Occupiers, eco-activists and even one alleged left-wing terrorist have all cited it as a rallying cry.” (Technology has rendered modern society  incapable of dealing with titles of more than a word or two, so Occupy Wall Street becomes just plain “Occupy”, and Idle No More is now a generic “Idle” as in Eric).

Dissidents seize on Atleo’s illness, chiefs call for non-confidence vote

As grassroots protests and blockades took place across the country Wednesday, fresh evidence of dissent among chiefs emerged. Several First Nations leaders told the National Post that some chiefs are considering a move to unseat Mr. Atleo, and recently revealed correspondence between chiefs and political staff show they wasted no time in angling for the national chief’s departure once he announced his brief medical leave.

“These folks who lost out to Shawn Atleo are using the cover of Idle No More to fight last July’s AFN election all over again, and they’re hoping to unseat him — hound him from office and throw the AFN into crisis,” said Ernie Crey, a fisheries advisor to the Sto:lo Tribal Council in B.C. “They would have a heck of a time ousting him, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try.”

Some guy in Wisconsin who apparently wanted to blow up the legislature identified himself as an Idle supporter. There have been protests in Hawaii (anyone who lives in Hawaii and can find something to complain about isn’t trying very hard), Seattle, Anchorage and Sydney, Australia. Others are planned for Boise, Atlanta, Macon and Montgomery, says Idle’s Facebook page. Lots of First Nations members in Montgomery, are there?

Probably not, but it doesn’t matter. It’s the show that counts, the protest: being part of the great angry disaffected world of progressive opposition to The Man. As Boesveld relates:

EcoWatch: Uniting the Grassroots Environmental Movement writer Bill McKibben says he doesn’t pretend to know just what’s happening with Idle No More north of the border, what with its hunger strikes and road blockades, but “it feels like it wells up from the same kind of long-postponed and deeply felt passion that powered the Arab Spring,” he wrote.

THE CANADIAN PRESS/John Woods Aboriginal protestors pray at the end of their blockade of a CN railroad track just west of Portage La Prairie, Man., on Wednesday.

See? Idle No More/Arab Spring, it’s all one and the same. As long as you’re angry at the existing order, one membership card gets you universal access. Summers in the park in New York or Vancouver or Berkeley, condemning the greed of the 1%, winters on a slow boat to Gaza to liberate the innocent victims of Israeli Apartheid. Autumn is for trashing the G-20, in whatever pleasant location they might seek to meet. It doesn’t really matter who you find yourself rubbing shoulders with: could be some Hamas operative intent on lobbying a few shells at Israel civilians, or Black bloc thugs heaving a bike rack through a window on Bay Street. Chaos doesn’t know who starts it. It’s just part of the universal movement to take back the streets (and the economy, and the government) and run it for the people, which means everyone who gets the same kick out of protesting that you do.

Idle No More’s web site says it “began with four ladies … who felt it was urgent to act on current and upcoming legislation that not only affects our First Nations people but the rest of Canada’s citizens, lands and waters. “ It’s a peaceful movement that objects to elements of the Conservative government’s omnibus budget bill that deal with the environment. The photo section is like a suburban family’s Facebook page, with shots kids and nature, and what looks like someone’s vacation snapshot from Beijing. It’s pretty harmless and well-meaning. But it’s been largely co-opted by the great international anti-The Man movement.

What are the aims of The Cause? No one is really quite sure: just as with Occupy, the Idle forces are disparate and leaderless

Sylvia McAdam, one of the original four Idle “ladies” sought to distance the organization from the upsurge of interlopers using its banner to justify a campaign of disruption. “A lot of our children and elders are involved in the [Idle No More] activities, so their safety is our priority,” she said. “If you have an impromptu blockade that doesn’t follow the legal permits, then you’re irritating the public and that’s not the purpose behind Idle No More.”

Well said, but unfortunately the folks doing the disrupting don’t really care, because The Cause is too important, and nothing must derail The Cause. What are the aims of The Cause? No one is really quite sure: just as with Occupy, the Idle forces are disparate and leaderless, a great mass of conflicting emotions united only in their determination to have someone listen to them, dammit, and do something. AFN grand chief Shawn Atleo tried to do something last week when he met with Stephen Harper, and now the movement wants to oust him, because after demanding the meeting, they declared they wouldn’t attend, so whatever Atleo did in there, it was the wrong thing and he shouldn’t have done it. Now they want a new leader who will get with the program and limit himself to loudly making demands, with no intention of ever having them met.

Because having them met would nullify the need for the movement, and then where would everyone go? The Gaza thing didn’t work out and Occupy just kind of died. Idle is all they’ve got for the moment. Otherwise they might have to join the Tea Party.

I recall starting out by say that these professional protestors were / are nothing but a bunch of underachieving hoodlums who are pissed off at anything  and anyone who  has gone farther in their lives than these moronic professional protestors ever will. They take up causes assigned to them by people who want power and destroy anything along the way that stands between them and their twisted objectives and ideologies . We as citizens are held hostage by these thugs, save for  those who decide to take a  stand to fight back with their words or cameras, or both. These professional protestors are brave and defiant, right to the point that they approach someone who will not back down. Idle No more is exactly the same. It takes stands against those they claim are the oppressors, and, by now, we all know the usual catch lines and phrases, but when confronted by serious, legitimate, hard questions, these professional protestors revert back to the old standby, false accusations, name calling and threats of violence. At least they are predictable and they most certainly continue to demonstrate their predilection for irrelevancy.

As the story of Occupy Toronto /  Decolonize / Idle No more begins to wind down, ( only two more sections left ) the players are certainly not remaining idle. Indeed, they are quite busy orchestrating their demise yet again. Stay tuned ………
