At our Jun.13 convention, members voted unanimously to make another contribution to the G20 legal defense fund.
So CUPE 1281 members, are aware that your union dues are being used to help fund the legal fees of people who committed crimes during the G20 last year ? Is THIS what you pay dues for ? Would you not rather have YOUR money go towards something worthwhile like affordable housing , or disability accommodation, rather than supporting criminals who destroyed YOUR city?

Let me see if I understand this, You want us, as students, to support a bunch of greedy workers who are not happy with making $35.00 an hour ( while we as students get next to nothing ) and hold the country hostage like a bunch of three years olds stamping thier feet on the ground until they get thier way ? Here is what REALLY should be done with them… FIRE them all and allow those who really want to work , work for them, offer them 20 bucks an hour, ( students, are you listening ? ) . I suspect that these jobs will be filled with gratefull people who really want a job, and are happy to have one. Hey RSU, here is an idea, why not advocate for student workers rights and better pay for students . You speak of better student funding but here you go taugting more government money to already overpaid government workers ….. whats wrong with this picture. Quit kissing CFS ass already and start advocating for YOUR students , RYERSON students, the very same students you are supposed to represent.

OK, now lets get this straight . The religious zealots who were claiming that the world was coming to an end at 6:0 pm last night need to learn from this. Lesson one,there is no such thing as a god and lesson two, religion is bullshit designed to brainwash weak and inferior minds to subservience. Now , lets try a new approach. How about starting to believe in yourselves and justifying your own actions without using crutches to lean on when you can’t make a sound and logical decision.

While you may have been preparing for your last meals, last kisses and last cans of coke, the fact is, the the world is not, I repeat, NOT coming to an end, as you fear, at or about 6:00 pm tonight. So , wake up and join the real world and discover a life outside your paranoia .

Another move
Sorry about the long delay in posting this my human friends, it was buried deep in my litter box. This make five key persons this year who have made significant moves from their long standing previous positions.On March 18, 2011 the YFS President received a letter of resignation from Jeremy Salter, YFS Executive Director, who will be leaving the students’ union to become the Organizer for the Canadian Federation of Students—Ontario. Mr. Salter has worked with distinction for the students’ union over the last five years, both as Policy Director and later as Executive Director. With his leadership and guidance, the YFS has developed into a model students’ union leading the way in activism, service delivery and programming. Though he is leaving the YFS, his contributions will always speak volumes about his dedication to the Canadian Student Movement for years to come. The Executive Committee, past and present, wishes to thank him for his dedication, discipline, and determination in fighting for student rights at York University.
