  • Some feed back from the student strike seminar

As many of you know by now, i am a student at one of the universities here in Toronto and i know first hand what the  tuition fees are , how high they are and how these fees have an effect on those who want to attend university but are financially unable to attend.  I consider myself to be one of the very fortunate persons  to be able to attend university. Let me be very clear on this: I support the students desire to seek lower tuition fees, as lower fees would make post secondary education accessible and equal to all who desire it. An educated work force only helps the economy and removes more persons from poverty. i have NO ISSUE with lower fees.

What i DO have a huge issue with  the means that some, and I point out that only SOME, people are using the students as pawns to further their own agendas. What has been going on in Montreal is a perfect example of how some groups, some persons have co-opted the student movement as a means to create anarchy , to enact violence and property damage . let me make this very clear.  Those of you who are doing these acts are NOT speaking for me .

This past weekend there a student seminar held here at the University of Toronto  but this was more of a who’s who within the anarchist community as opposed to  actual concerned students. Here is more of what they had in mind with respects to  what types of actions they think works to lower fees:

ImageSorry but occupations don’t work. The occupy movement has been an utter and complete failure because it was co-opted by fringe groups, unions, anarchists, so called environmentalists  and just about anyone who is pissed of at any form of government or authority.

I understand student solidarity , respect it and advocate for it. however, solidarity does need to include violence and destroying things for the sake of destruction. Imagine what a voice these students CAN HAVE  by lobbying as one voice  with an issue , but done respectfully. People WOULD listen . You cannot ignore thousands of students , however, if even ONE decided to use this as a opportunity to enact violence , the media will pick up on that and THAT will be the sole sound bite that the general public will see, and identify the student movement with.

    Image

Here are two articles written about the event of this past weekend. i do not agree with what is being said, nor  do i support the groups who write this article, however, i offer everyone a fair chance to explain their reasons and / or their motivations.

    http://socialistworkercanada.com/2012/07/29/student-strike-training-camp-brings-lessons-of-quebec-to-ontario/

I mentioned above how opposed I am to the co-opting of the student movement by fringe groups. the above links are two such groups  that i think the students really need to be aware of  as there are hidden  motives these groups have for  wanting to participate.  I think that the students really need to do their  home work  before they commit to participating with these groups or under their umbrellas. The sad truth is that many of these students  are not aware of who is really behind this, and why .

  • The student so called protests are trying to get started again …… get ready to laugh

Meow everyone. Well, i knew it would not take long. the anarchists had nothing to do for the past few weeks so they created a ” student strike ” seminar at U of T to try and revive this movement and bring it to Ontario. First of all, lets get one thing very clear here, Ontario is NOT Quebec, never has been , never will be. However, these brain dead anarchist seemed to have missed a few classes , since they clearly do not know this.

I went to the event which started off Friday night with a social at the U of T grad students Union lounge. There were already several person here from Montreal and it was nice to talk about the city from where i am from as well. I left after a few hours as I was really not into the drinking thing anyway. I came back Saturday morning only to be greeted by Anarchist Ashleigh Ingle who along with a few choice words proclaimed that i was not welcomed there. ya, right i said. Not quite sure who dies and made her god , but hey, if she likes to go on power trips, all the best to her I say. She was of course about as successful in getting rid of me as i would be as a space shuttle pilot, but give her props for trying. Here is a nice photograph taken via smart phone of the opening of the event:

    Image

As you can clearly see from this image, i was either able to invent time travel by being in two places at the same time, or the more likely possibility that  her ability to keep me out was an epic FAIL.

Next, the group decided to sent out a few twitter messages. One caught my eye in particular in that they were basically asking the students to violate their own schools policies around the non academic student code of conduct, and further, that the CFS friendly student union create committees   to  get around these same non academic codes of conduct. Behold :

    Image

Note as well that by default, university administration is to be considered  as repressive. Great, noted for future reference, oh, wait, never mind, i don’t plan to break my schools non academic code of conduct.

Lastly, allow me to really dig deep into my litter box to show you that power and impact these strikes are about to have. Why almost 250 people showed to participate in the utter disruption of civilization in Toronto on a Saturday night.  the march started from Kings college Circle at the University of Toronto, made is way east to Yonge Street, south on Young to Dundas where they, decided to block aid the intersection for a few minutes. I love how Trey Winney, Jessica Denyer and Danial Vandervoort were all tough trying to incite the drivers into submission. Yup, another FAIL. Guys, look, if you really want to piss people off, forget about occupying an intersection, block air a beer store. Oh , wait, you would then  be oppressing those who drink, sorry, my mistake. How evil of me to think that perhaps there is a person sitting in the traffic you just created who has to take a person to a hospital as a result of an emergency.

Trey, Jessica, Danial, look, and please, take this as a respectful suggestion. . cops have big cars, with lights and sirens. that sort of mean that they are allowed to go even the wrong way on a one way street if need be, so, your brilliant plan of going north on Spadina Ave. in the south bound lanes, and then west on Adelaide st. which is one way going east from west is again a pure and simple FAIL .

    Image

Oh yes, one last thing, please try a new chant, the usual ones are really not resonating with the people you are trying to convince. My guess, and this is only my guess, people will be less than supportive of those who advocate for things like ” fuck the cops ”  and  ” kill the 1% ” , something about the whole killing thing seems be a huge turn off.

  • Meow everyone. …

Meow everyone. today, i wish to discuss something that a very good friend and fellow blogger has discussed in some detail, that being the use of violence against persons who live with autism in the school system. These reprehensible acts of violence and child abuse are being carried out and condoned by UNIONS . Read this first to get an idea of where I am going :

    https://kitty.protestnerd.com/2012/06/12/opseu-uses-ad-hominems-to-defend-the-use-of-violence-against-autistic-children/

Also from the same person and same blog , here is another related story he wrote showing this pathetic conduct:

    https://kitty.protestnerd.com/2012/04/27/opseu-backs-the-use-of-riot-gear-on-autistic-children/

In addition, here is still another great story he wrote about this :

    https://kitty.protestnerd.com/2012/05/25/opseu-walks-out-on-autistic-children/

Now, as many of you already know, i write along the lines of post secondary education and how CFS friendly  student unions and the CFS are  not interested to advocating for actual students. Why do i say this ? At my university , the union in question at the center of this act of barbarism is OPSEU. This union is very big at my campus , representing many workers here in various areas of the university. Many students whom I personally know, live with this disability and in fact I have several very good friends , some in the graduate program who live with different forms of this disability. However, they are doing very well because no doubt, they were not kung fu-ed  by teachers and school staff.

I could not help but notice yet again how the CFS ( Canadian Federation of Students )  had nothing to say about this , not even a squeak of a sound on it. However, i also could not help but notice how the same CFS had no shortage of money , $30,000.00 to be exact  to give away, to be more accurate, give away YOUR student money, to further the acts of violence in Montreal , with the possible hopes of bring this type of action to Ontario. . One must really wonder where the priorities of the CFS lay  and why they have not seem fit to comment even a sound against these acts of child abuse. Let me state as well that many of these kids who may otherwise have desires to go to university of other post secondary schools  will now be just another statistic of persons who are left out to fend for themselves , get to oive with the stigma of being a bullied person . Here are a few facts to consider :

    ImageImageImageImageImage

The above images were shot by me at the very recent awareness event to raise awareness for for this disability . Interesting that they had as part of this event , Star Wars  icons . Even Darth Vader gets the message : ” … DON’T use the force ”  Why then can’t these union idiots and student organizations no only NOT get it, but indeed , are perpetuating these  acts of violence against kids. ? These are questions you NEED to ask your union leaders the next time they want your suport and vote to keep them in power .

  • ” … We don’t need no education , we don’t need no thought control … ”

Meow everyone, I am not sure how to react to this latest act of stupidity , but, here is goes . A few days, ago, just as what is taking place at most universities across Canada, people, STUDENTS are graduating this week, hoping that the next phase in their lives will be one where they will finally be able to put to use what they spent years trying to learn.  Everyone that is, except for this guy here :

    Image

I can understand protesting, hell I spent a few hours of my life doing that , and continue to this day to ensure that we all have equality . However, one thing I value above all is my education and what it stands for, what it can lead to. . Here is the story from where the above image is sourced from :

    http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1211711–u-of-t-graduate-refuses-degree-in-convocation-protest#.T9s29kWx4Oc.facebook

” … In a sea of smiling, young faces and black graduation robes at Thursday’s University of Toronto Convocation Hall ceremonies, one person stood out: the serious young man with the red, floppy brimmed hat, long brown hair and red square pinned to his gown.

He stood out even more when he advanced toward the podium and had words with a marshal who wanted to know why he was carrying a sign that said “no’’ and suggested he not go further with it.

But after a few awkward seconds, while the announcer waited for the small drama to be played out, the young man’s name was announced and Michael Vipperman went up to the podium, where various U of T officials and other dignitaries were seated. He turned and faced the audience, held up his “no’’ sign and said, “I hereby renounce this degree.’’

The 26-year-old also handed out pamphlets to a few people on the podium explaining why he was rejecting his honours bachelor of arts degree and left the stage.

Vipperman, who grew up in Toronto, said he stands in solidarity with “the courageous students of Quebec’’ and their fight for accessible education, the right to protest and against corruption in government.

He said university education is becoming elitist and exclusionary with “only certain people able to afford it.’’

“Education is being treated like a product, a commodity. Education should be an ongoing process rather than a product which can be sold or received.’’

Vipperman’s protest was a momentary blip at the convocation of more than 400 St. Michael’s College students, one of several such ceremonies this week.

Some students looked surprised at Vipperman’s pronouncement, as did several officials on the podium like U of T chancellor David Peterson. Others didn’t seem to notice. It was all over quickly and Vipperman returned to his seat along with his fellow students.

Afterwards, he told the Star he was happy he did it and had mostly positive feedback from other students, several of whom asked to have a post-ceremony photo taken with him.

He said he also believes it’s wrong for the University of Toronto to have a close relationship with certain “venomous institutions’’ and corporations and that its funding priorities “have emphasized generating wealth for industry over providing a quality education.’’

Vipperman admitted his parents tried to talk him out of his protest because they thought it might be seen as disrespectful and have ramifications. But Vipperman said he has fond feelings for his time at the U of T, and his fellow students and respects many of the faculty.

When asked for comment after the convocation, Vipperman’s mom, Deborah, smiled and said, “I love my kid.’’

The university did not respond to a request for comment. … “

I happen to know this person and he is actually a very bright and intelligent person . As I said, I am really not sure what to make of this story and this event but I am really not convinced that this action is what will solve the issue of high tuition fees.

  • So, THIS is what CFS reps condone

Meow everyone. So far you have heard or read me talking about the CFS and how they seemingly condone the violence we have all seen and heard about, in Montreal by some students ( if they are really students  and not professional black bloc goons ) . We have all come to see the hate these goons have and further, how these same goons seem to have a love affair with Hitler and his pathetic regime of terror this world has sen in the not to distant past.  In fact, I point out that we have all had at least direct family member , quite possible still living, who had to endure this regime , either through direct conflict / combat , or had members of ones family  live through it. Either way these stories are some of the most horrific of all stories in living memory.

Having said this, i would to draw y’ all attention to the following  image and corresponding story  as sourced from here at

    http://www.globalmontreal.com/stop+nazi+salutes+at+quebec+student+protests+jewish+groups/6442659552/story.html?utm_source=facebook-twitter&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=community

    :

    Image

Now, I would to like to show y’ all what was said today, by Nora Loreto Who , until very recently was on staff with the CFS, The Canadian Federation of Students. The CFS is an organization that is supposed to represent ALL students within its membership . it seems, however, some students  are not quite worthy to be represented .  Here is what Loreto had to say on here Facebook account today :

    Image

Now, lets start to break her comment down a bit. She starts of by comparing what took place in Nazi Germany recent law that was passed where protestors would not be allowed to hide like cowards and wear masks to hide themselves while  committing crimes.  Well, if these so called protestors are so secure about the legitimacy of their actions, why hide ones face ?

She then goes onto say that there are parallels to the actions of these so called students , what took place in Nazi Germany and what the governments law is about.  Sorry Nora, hate to break to you but there are NO parallels to Nazi Germany in any way shape or form. What took place there was RACE based , an act of horrific nature based on a  person being Jewish.  Maybe, you need to spend a little more time in the library reading actual history books and real, newspaper accounts of what took place rather than  your bullshit communist, left wing, tortsky-ist, marxist , NDP  crap you seem to be married to thinking along.

Now, there will be those who are wondering what others, especially  the Jewish community feel about the use of Hitler salutes. Well, Lets have a closer look :

All quotes are sourced from the above posted and referred to link

” … The appearance of so-called Nazi salutes at Quebec student protests was condemned by a Jewish-rights organization that asked people to refrain from using the hurtful gesture. … “

” … the actions defile the memory of those who died in the Holocaust, of those who survived under the Nazi regime and of those who fought against the Nazis in the Second World War. … “

” … The actions of these protesters, whether for the purposes of deriding Montreal police or drawing attention to their cause, defile the memory of the Holocaust and remind us just how quickly anti-Semitism and the manifestations of hate can venture their way into our public discourse. … “

Now, Let me show you another comment and once read, I will add another bit of information to make your heads shake.

” … We condemn, in the strongest of terms, this inexcusable display of hate by Quebec student protesters that has outraged the Jewish community and demonstrated just how low the level of public debate has fallen on the streets of Montreal,” CEO Frank Dimant said in the statement. … “

I added the above quote as written because about two weeks ago, the same CFS is on record as GIVING a donation  of $30,00-.00  to support these ” student ” lead actions . YOUR student money is going to support violence and hate.

Lastly, I wish to leave everyone with this image today . For those of you who love your International Socialists, your Marxists theories, your communist ideologies, here is a bit of reality from one of your OWN idols . Is THIS REALLY what you want o see happen, and if so, are you REALLY ready and willing to put up the fight that will most certainly  put an end to any such thing you plan for ?

  • This will certainly want to make the government want to discuss the tuition fee issue

Meow everyone. Yesterday i wrote on here how I did not wish , as a student , to get lumped in with a bunch of idiotic morons who seem to think that glorifying Hitler would somehow force the governments hand such that they will will capitulate to the demands of these student protestors.

Well, allow me to show some other examples of these students protesting the reduction of tuition fees. These images were all taken over the past weekend at the Montreal F1 races and subsequent protests. The images  are sourced from from here at , along with a article about what went on :

    http://blogs.canoe.ca/lilleyspad/general/pictures-of-the-montreal-student-protests-are-worth-a-few-thousand-words/

    Image

Yes all of us students pay tribute to the most hideous dictators of all time as shown above and below

    Image

And lastly, these is nothing like some good old fashioned window smashing to demonstrate to the government and public just serious we as students  are about  lower tuition fees. I hope that these idiots get to have to pay for the property damage as an addition onto their fees now.

    Image

Additional images and related story can be found via this source here at :

    http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/i-went-to-montreal-may-day-and-all-i-got-was-tear-gassed

So , where am I finding this stuff from one may ask . Great question and one I can easily answer. Many people will recall the G20 that was held in Toronto two years ago , and what took place here. One of the key figures in the riots was a person named Jaggi Singh a well known anarchist with a reputation of inciting riots and violence. Well, it appears he had a busy week . Behold :

His call out for this disruption can be found by going to the facebook site of the Community Solidarity Network . Here is what the page looks like :

Thank you Mr. Singh for setting back the plight of students 5o years and thank you also for contributing to making us ALL look like a bunch of criminals. Your kind of advocacy is not wanted, not welcomed and with any luck, you will get to take a free ride with the Crown Victoria Limousine Service, paid for by the state, put up , by the state for a few years and  even get free tayloring of your very fashionable orange jumpsuit.

  • I am a student and I do NOT want to be grouped in with these morons

There is a great deal of protesting going on in Montreal right now, most of them being students, hard working students who truely and honestly care about tuition fees and how this will effect them in the long run. I agree that fees are very high and while i do understand the reasoning behind high fees, I do not agree with them.

That being said, there is a right way and a wrong way to protest something where one seeks change. However, I do NOT in any way shape of form respect, side with, tolerate or condone any form of of violence. Further, please do not represent yourselves as student protestors who are looking after my interests and well being with this crap :

    Image

I am NOT a fucking Nazi and I do not wish to have this type of support from anyone to further my desire for lower tuition fees.

    Image

This is what is going on in Montreal right now. This is they type of anarchy that  will destroy any chance of attaining lower tuition fees. This is exactly the type of action that destroys the credibility of honest, legitimate advocates for real causes. Its crap  like this that paints each and every honest, trustworthy and reputable advocate with an anarchist, criminal, black bloc styled brush.

I spent the better part of this morning helping to support and advocate for a student with a disability to be allowed to provide a series of past due assignments  with new dates and without any late penalties. How is it that i was able to do this , simply by being polite, clear, articulate, aware of the issues, able to offer suggestions that could work, and even though i am a student, i was able to be 100% successful. The reason is simple. there was respect on both sides, awareness and knowledge of the issues on both sides , and lastly, respect for the system in place now. Oh yes, we were also able to advocate to make a major change to the system in place now. Not bad for ONE meeting .

This is what some of the student groups and organizations want to bring to Toronto as well. NO THANKS. These action in Montreal do NOT speak for the real students and they certainly do NOT speak for me.

Recently, the Canadian Federation of Students gave Thirty Thousand  of yours and my student dollars to support this type of pathetic display. Thirty grand of OUR student money that could have actually helped other students , but instead, they decided that somehow hitler-esk salutes would work well enough to lower student post secondary education tuition fees.

I would like to conclude this by making it very clear that the actions depicted here are NOT indicative of all student protestors , therefore, i also do wish to paint all those who protest with this brush .

This was the call out by a major player in the anarchist community to bring chaos and destruction to the city of Montreal during a major event. These people ,on one hand complain about high tuition fees, then on the other hand , want to disrupt the very event, and other such events that bring millions of tax dollars to the city and government to help offset some of these very same fees.

Here is the comment / call out in question:

    – Support Quebec’s General & Social Strike

    An Anti-Capitalist/Anti-Authoritarian Convergence

    June 6-10, 2012 – MONTREAL

The Anti-Capitalist Convergence of Montreal (CLAC) is calling for an anti-capitalist/anti-authoritarian presence in Montreal to disrupt the Grand Prix “jet-set”, and to support Quebec’s ongoing student strike, which has become a larger “social strike.” The Convergence is also in defiance of Quebec’s new special law against protesters and the student strike.

We encourage our allies and friends from all over Quebec, the Maritimes, Ontario, and anywhere else to converge on Montreal this coming week.

There’s a schedule of various protests and activities noted at the following links:

Basically, downtown Montreal will be a protest zone against the Grand Prix and in support of the social strike. Disruptions are part of a larger strategy of economic disruption to fight back against the tuition hikes, and more broadly to resist neo-liberalism and austerity. Several community groups signed a solidarity statement that is linked here: http://www.solidarityacrossborders.org/en/francais-solidarite-avec-la-greve-generale-etudiante

If you’re coming for the Convergence, it’s useful to arrive by Wednesday, and stay for the weekend, but come for as long as you can.

There is a disruption planned for opening cocktail of the Grand Prix on the late afternoon of Thursday, June 7. More info about it here: http://www.clac-montreal.net/en/grandsoir

For all actions, your self-organization and autonomy is essential. This is a decentralized convergence. Come prepared and organized.

    [LEGAL INFORMATION: http://www.clac-montreal.net/en/GPLegalInformation]

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to organize transport or housing, so we’re counting on your self-organization skills.

CLAC will be posting useful legal information about protesting in Montreal on our website shortly. We can provide numbers of sympathetic lawyers, and offer basic support.

Hope to see you on the streets of Montreal next week!

  • So, as a student and member of the CFS, where DOES your money really go ?

Meow everyone. last night I had a chance to attend the support for Quebec students rally at George Brown College in Toronto,  and before the march got under way, a few persons made some speeches. Now, before I get to the speeches , and one in particular, Allow me to draw your attention back to a post I made a few days ago where this was posted:

    Image

Remember how our CFS friend Ms. Loreto is advocating here for acts of criminality by ” encouraging actions to break this law ” . She starts off  by saying how the CFS in indeed encouraging these laws to be broken by the students and protestors.

Now. lets go back to last nights protest event. One of the speakers was from the CFS  who proudly proclaimed that $30,000.00 of YOUR student dollars was donated by the CFS to further this cause in Quebec. That is $30K of YOUR tuition fee monies,  to support actions,  to break laws. Here is the link to show what I am referring to :

    https://kitty.protestnerd.com/2012/06/06/report-from-tonights-casseroles-march-at-torontos-george-brown-college/

Now, the CFS makes wonderful statements about how tuition fees are sky high. Don’t get me wrong here, I do agree that our fees are very high and something does have to be done to make post secondary education affordable and accessible for everyone. However, the CFS seems to talk a lot and do nothing to actually accomplish this . In fact, that same $30,000.00 they gave away to condone actions of criminality could have been used to offer students in need,  bursaries, REAL help . For example, 30 needy students could have received $1000.00 each towards post secondary education had the CFS actually was interested in making PSE accessible and affordable to all, ad per their ad nausium claims .   So, once again, we see clearly that the CFS  is about double standards,  and double talk, but no real action to help and support students in need, the same students they profess to want to help. So, $30,000.00 of YOUR student money  just went into the litter box and YOU get to clean up the mess you didn’t even make.

Lastly, let me leave y’ all with this small video of how these so called peaceful protestors  have no interest in anything other than being confrontational. These are the same protestors who seemingly claim to be doing this in the name of accessible, affordable post secondary education , and this, somehow, will be a great motivator of government to act quickly to reduce my tuition fees.  $30,000.00 of my student money went to support this type of idiocy. And look carefully our friend and resident idiot  Occupy Adam makes a cameo appearance. I am not sure how this is actually helping students like myself and many others attain those lower tuition fees . However, I suspect this guy here will certainly contribute to the positive attributes of peaceful and respectful advocacy. He also is the star of the video   :

    meow everyone.

  • What a great point he makes

I have written and / or added many links to the threads here on the CFS and member student unions and what they REALLY do, or do not do. however, what i have not yet touched upon was the real impact these events in Montreal will have / do have on students NOW.

As a student, a summer job is huge as it will at least help in getting funds together for the upcoming semester to help pay tuition fees , books, materials and equipment. However, with the rioting taking place thee now, one must wonder what employment prospects are in store for students there now . Here is a great video that shows the effect that these riots have on the tourist industry in Montreal, an industry that has traditionally hired students.

    https://kitty.protestnerd.com/2012/06/02/5428/

the person who posted the above video on his site as linked here is a very well respected and very well versed on what is going on with the Montreal situation, as well, has made some very well documented connections between the student movement and the real forces behind what is going on in Montreal. You can read his very well laid out and highly detailed and accurate blog here at :

  • No Thank you, I choose not to do aanything to get myself arrested

Last night as the annual CFS general meeting was taking place, the usual bunch of baffoonian speakers addressed the ( brainwashed )  assembled  to hear more  radical speeches .  It boggle my mind that these  otherwise bright and seemingly intelligent students would allow themselves to be lead down a path where the  end , or final outcome will a  jail cell. How can bright and intelligent students allow themselves to be so manipulated by an organization so bent  on anarchy?  It appears that not only does the CFS want its members to  engage inn criminality as discussed in a recent article posted here, in fact , the CFS thinks so little of its students that they seem to think that  we have no recollection of history and the significance of aspects of our history, fairly recent history,a history that many within our immediate family can related to. Case in point, an dI will let the image say it all:

Sorry Nora, but as a person who had family live and have to endure this very time period you wish to mock and offer a salute to, offer some twisted praise for, I greatly object to even seeing this as being used by a student organization. In object to knowing that the very student organization that MY FEES pay into are blatantly advocating  the use of such objectionable symbols of oppression, perhaps the great oppression this world has seen in many hundreds of years. Thank you for letting the public consider us a bunch of Nazi’s .

Now, I have made mention as well about suggesting that students take up criminality to further the student cause. I AM a STUDENT, and in no way , shape or form  do I wish to be even remotely involved with criminal conduct,  for a great many reasons. Acts of stupidity do nothing to further the cause of students , and makes us look like a bunch of temper mental idiots who act like two years old stamping their feet until they get their way. Wait, apologies to two year olds, they don’t actually act as stupidly as what the CFS would like us as student to conduct ourselves as . Here is yet another example fo what I am referring to :

Tell me, what is gained, what will be gained by us going around and getting arrested , becoming criminals ? It would seem to me that we are far more effective when we provide our position in a clear , articulate, respectful manner to those who are in a position to make changes.
